lt’s delightful to see a concise, perfectly formed collection conceived in a flash of inspiration that happens to make complete sense. Sana Hashwani and Safinaz Muneer unveiled their Spring Summer Collection 2008 last week in collaboration with LSM Fabrics of Lakhany Silk Mills (Pvt.) Ltd.

Through the years, they have experimented and come up with something new in every collection. Always combining traditional with modern, their collection of lawn prints this year includes both daywear and nightwear. In all, they have 10 prints, each in two colours and five of them have chiffon dupattas. Says Safinaz, "For our latest collection, we have played with very bright colours and bold designs, keeping in mind the choice of locales."

The colour palette ranges from pastels to bright maroons and purple, and from pinks to blues. They have experimented with both light and bright colours such as dark leaf green, turquoise, ash grey, aqua, yellows, oranges, reds, indigo, mauve and black. Using embellishments such as sequins, intricate embroidery with delicate stitches of resham on fabric gives the collection a traditional yet very contemporary modern look. The entire line is a harmonious mix of styles, fabrics, textures and colours, each complimenting the other and resulting in a fascinating spectrum for this summer.

To conclude, the collection is all about attitude. Stylish and chic, Sana Safinaz is a label to flaunt around town.
