BCBG purse strap is too long; how can I make it shorter?
I went Black Friday shopping today, and in my haste I bought a little blue BCBG leather purse for about $20. I didn't realize till after I got home that the purse strap consisted of a very long silver chain. I think the bag would still look cute if only the chain were shorter. What can I do to shorten the strap?
Thanks! Where can I go to buy a chain purse strap? Would most clothing stores have them? Are there any website out there that I could order from?
Good idea with opening the chain link! I will have to give that a try before buying a new chain 
Gently separate one link of the chain at the length that you would like the strap to be.
If you can't do this then asking a male member of your family who is good with tools to do it for you may be a requirement. (Dad's really like it when their older daughters come to them with even little problems.)
Remove the rest of the chain from the end and discard. Using the already opened link that you have from shortening the strap, clasp that to the ring holding your purse, while attached to the rest of the chain. MAKE SURE THE CHAIN IS NOT TWISTED! Close the link again by gently manipulating it back into place.
